November 8th was the day where Champions were crowned.
The A’ Grade Championship match was won by student Tristan Berrett. It was a great fight where Tristan hit the shots that counted winning 3/2 over 36 holes becoming crowned The Lakes Club Champion. The match was very close with the scores all square by the end of 18 holes. Tristan took a 3 up lead through the next 5 holes, which he held onto until the end. Tristan has had a good year which also included him winning his first even Vardon event.
Chizuru Ueda was working on becoming a back to back Champion. With hard work and strategising throughout the week with me, Chizuru went in confidently. He confidence showed as she jump to a 6 up lead after 9 holes increasing this to 9 up by the end of the 18. According to the scorers, Chizuru was 2 under at that stage, which was amazing in those windy condition. Chizuru then calmly ready a domie 12 lead, where her opponent fought back with two straight birdies to bring the match to domie 10. They halves the 27th hole, which gave Chizuru a 10/9 win over 36 holes.
The A’ Resever title went to Even Kargas. Evan and i started working together earlier this year. Leading into the event, Evan got an injury to his hand and neck…but was still able to work through the pain and win the title. It was a great effort. It did not end there…Evan won his first round knock out match in A’ Grade to finish his run in the top 8. Well Done Evan!
I am looking forward to an exciting period over the next 12 months.
Good Luck!
