Charles Kares was recognised at the PGA Awards last night at Pymble Golf Course by winning the prestigious award of NSW/ACT PGA Teaching Professional of the Year.Charles was also nominated for the NSW/ACT Country Pro-am of the Year.
The PGA selection committee were provided evidence of Charles’ commitment and dedication to the golfing profession.
Charles teaching philosophy is captured in totality by the values of making things easy by targeting the nucleus of any golf swing and making the solution simple to understand and allow the Client/Student to practice and work on. He caters for his clients and offers a range of programs including half hour and hour driving range sessions, Nine Hole playing lessons, Course Management and Strategic Play, class lessons with the option of access to his Trackman, K-Vest and SAM Puttlab.
The technical aspects of his teaching were complimented by an invitation to present his state of the art teaching programs of Trackman, K-Vest and SAM Puttlab in a dedicated segment with Brett Ogle on the Golf show.
Charles also authored 46 golf tips for Royal Canberra members in 2013 and over the past three years this has accumulated to a total over 170 weekly tips. Golf Australia Magazine published six full page articles, written by Charles over a six month period in 2013 and four tips in 2012.
Greg Bayliss interviewed Charles ‘live’ on 666AM ABC radio, twice during the year. Charles provided updates and information on Junior Golf and the development and reinvigoration of the junior program at RCGC with the support of the RCGC Board.
During 2013, Charles also took on the role of Junior Development Coach and has undertaken certified training with Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) in Level One and Level Two Junior Coaching. He is implementing fitness analysis into his coaching along with junior cadets and members being trained in an athletic style to develop the capability to become a consistent golfer.
