Fighting spirit wins The Lakes Women’s Club Championship in 2017 with a fight to the end!
My junior student wins The 2017 Women’s Club Chamionship at The Lakes!
Qualifying at number three after the stroke rounds, but was able to work hard and win the opening two matches to reach the final.
The match up was against Xanthe Macklinshaw in the final.
The final was set to be played over 36 holes.
She took the inital two holes of the match, but was pegged back by Xanthe through nine holes.
Xanthe was in control of the match until Yuka won the last two holes of the match to be only 1 down after 18.
Xanthe again took control and was 2 up through 27 holes.
Having her friend Chizuru Ueda on the bag. After a quick chat about the plan for the back nine, she turned her game on.
The match was all aquare through 29…it was anyones to take.
Xanthe won the 3oth and 31st and was again 2up. The 32nd was halved it was 2 up to Xanthe with 4 holes to go.
The young star then focused parring the last four holes, resulting in 4 straight holes won, giving the young start a 2up win and the title.
It just shows that patience and focus will get you the result.
It was a great effort to fight to the end and win!
